That's another thing that irks me about this: why invest in machinery, which creates jobs in the form of R&D, manufacturing, sales, distribution, etc, when you can pay an illegal alien a couple bucks and hour?

Yes but the Americans and their families have paid for the schooling of their children and roads and paying for these young labors when they show up to the emergy room, paying for their accidents when driving in vehicles that aren’t insured. So while the plantation owner pays 25$ an hour less for this work that our out of work americans wont do for the same rates the rest of us pays the balance of these illegel immigrants hidden wages.

Excellent post. Not a day goes by, where a political discussion concerning illegal aliens is concerned, where the argument is posed, that illegal aliens simply take the jobs that no one else will.

How much more trite can one be? To me, this is a no brainer. The simple question is: if it's likely that illegal aliens fill jobs that no natural born american would take, is it as likely that the ubiquitous presence of illegal aliens keeps prices and wages artificially low, because they're willing to work at wages that natural born americans won't?

If the former assertion is valid, then the latter is no less valid.

In a sense I agree with the implication that it seems inherently racist; implying that Mexicans are willing to do work that Americans are "too good" for. The thing is, Americans are getting lazier and lazier. Thousands are living on welfare instead of doing those very jobs that are going unfilled. People in this country have a ridiculous entitlement philosophy that is killing the US as more and more have graduated from the govt as big brother into a new form of govt as Big Mother. Until our own citizens stop sucking on the leftist teat and empower themselves, these folks will be welcomed by employers.

Many adult immigrants from Mexico will gladly do these jobs.

There are a lot of democrats living off social programs that could do those jobs. There's no reason why they can't. Take the democrats off the public dole, and they'll do it if they want to eat. There's no reason why they can't work.

The same people who on one hand try to justify illegal immigration by saying they do the work that Americans won't do, in the next breath will they complain about all the people who need jobs and are homeless as a result. There are many on welfare or who are homeless because of unemployment that could do that work. No one says they have to do it forever if they don't want to. It is up to the individual if they want to stay on the bottom of the economic rung forever.

Of course, the ones who are homeless because of their drug/alcohol problems are another issue.

Our town in Eastern Washington is being OVER-RUN. It has to be 50% now. Drive-by shooting and gang activity everywhere and no one will do a dam thing to stop it.

You are right, I remeber as a kid, we could pick the fuits and vegetables. That was our school money for the upcoming year. Now our kids dont have summer jobs and the "Migrant" workers sit around on their butts for 6 months out of the year at tax payers expense and have more children that are automatic americans (on the dole)

Illegals are now working at our local factories and their numbers are growing here in my rural community in east TN. These are jobs that our local graduates are now having to stand in line behind the illegals.

I would gladly pay more for my produce and other products if all illegals were deported and higher wages were paid to our citizens. In the end, it would cost me less considering what the illegals are costing us in free programs, healthcare, etc.

No, it's not. Apples and oranges. Negros making good slaves is racist and saying Mexicans make good roofers is racist. The fact is that Mexicans will work jobs that many Americans won't. I agree that Americans would work these jobs if the pay was more but that opens up another issue.

The work ethic in American is different than 1920 or even 1980. Help wanted signs in windows everywhere in the service industry. Perfect jobs for college and high school students, second jobs, or starter jobs to get on feet. Minimum wage applies. As far as cheap labor, I agree that Americans would be willing to do some jobs if they paid more but that is another issue that involves immigration issues, labor unions, and economic impacts to consumer prices.

5. Because of our legal system, employers want illegals for they will not sue for sexual harassment or some other BS reason. With illegals they can circumvent our employment rules and regulations, like long hours for low pay.

There are many people that work long hours for salaries and low pay. Those with salaries could divide the number of hours by the salary and might see a low paying job. Not going to feel sorry for the border crosser that now gets paid more in a day than the whole family got in a week. He traveled here illegally, he has to be accountable for himself.
