RAT Iowa Gov. Says Bush Said "We Can't Win The War On Terror" WHAT??
Fox News | 08/30/04 | timydnuc

Posted on 08/30/2004 2:29:40 PM PDT by timydnuc

I just heard this RAT say this a minute ago. I've NEVER heard the President say anything like that. Anybody got some more input on this and where he could have come up with it?

It's out of context. The President recently said something like there is no way we can ever have total victory over terror.

GWB did say that. It was on one of the Alphabet morning shows. It is taken out of context here, though.

The gist was there will always be terrorists.

Yes, he said it in the current Time magazine interview, I think it was. We can't win it, but we can make terrorism an unattractive tactic, or something like that.

It was an interesting -- and I think correct -- passage.

Of course we can't "WIN" it any more than the Israelis have ever won theirs. All we can do is beat it down to a low level, like the "War on Crime".

Right, this is an on going battle which may never end, is the Bush opinion.

"The President recently said something like there is no way we can ever have total victory over terror."

We can't ever have total victory unless we are willing to utterly destroy Islam the same as we did Nazism.

Bush said something like "we will never win the war on terror". There will be no "V" day. No signing of some agreement for peace, etc. That't what he meant.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan on Monday sought to clarify the president's remarks, suggesting that Bush was talking about winning the war against terror in the conventional sense that might happen in a war against a nation.. "You've often heard him talk about how this is a different kind of war," McClellan said. "We face an unconventional enemy. I don't think you can expect that there will ever be a formal surrender or a treaty signed like we have in wars past."

The quote is accurate. GWB has misspoken again.

Who knows what he meant. The damage is done. Really,
he needs to get better at this.

We don't help ourselves by pretending that this
president never puts his foot in his mouth. He does.
The media are to blame for a great deal. But not for
everything.

Our man has a problem with words, and that's a big problem
indeed. He can win this election only with our help.

Some of these idiots DO believe the war can be ended. I recall that poor deluded 12 year-old kid that just died... forget his name... Jimmy Carter went to his funeral and attacked Bush... he one time wrote that we should meet with bin Laden and negotiate a treaty.

"Can we win it?"

The president replied: "I don't think you can win it. But I think you can create conditions so that the - those who use terror as a tool are - less acceptable in parts of the world."

We will never win a war on "terror" any more than we could win a war on "crime".

Terrorists and liberals can win a "war on freedom" though. We maintain our freedom by caging them, killing them or persuading them to join the side of freedom.

It is a quick countdown to extinction once you stop fighting terrorists, criminals and liberals.

John Gibson on Fox...

"Koch quoted Lee Hamilton of the 9/11 Commission on Neil's show. Hamilton said they want to kill us, meaning the Islamists. Koch said, if there is going to be killing, let it be over there rather than here.

In New York, scratch an anti-Bush Democrat and you'll find that exact sentiment just under the surface. And if they don't think the Democrat will take action, secretly I bet they vote for the guy their party has been demonizing.

When it comes to terror, like real estate, the key is location, location, location."

now 43 is doing THE SAME THING. the bushes will NEVER learn.'
