A 21-year-old Cobb County man has been charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence after his passenger was decapitated in an accident early Sunday morning.
Shortly after midnight Sunday, John Kemper Hutcherson, and 23-year-old Francis Daniel Brohm were returning home from a Marietta, Ga. bar when their truck ran into a curb near a telephone pole.
Brohm, partially outside the trucks window at the time, was decapitated by a telephone pole guide wire.
Police say after the accident, Hutcherson continued home, parked his truck in his driveway with Brohms body still inside, then went inside and fell asleep.
At about 8 a.m. Sunday morning, Cobb County police received a call from a man who was out walking with his 1-year-old daughter and observed Brohms headless and bloody body hanging outside the trucks window.
Police later found Hutcherson asleep inside the house, covered in blood and visibly inebriated. He was arrested in bed and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police also found Brohms decapitated head at the crash site along Canton Road.
No kidding. It's unbelieveable that someone that drunk can even manage to get home. I'm very curious what his blood alcohol level was. It had to be way way way up there, probably .3 something.
If you're so drunk that you don't notice your friend has lost his head, you're so drunk that you can't see, can't hear, and can't comprehend anything. That's one breath away from acute alcohol poisoning.
He was so drunk he didn't think to turn his head and ask his buddy to come in, he just hopped out of the truck and went to bed covered in a bloody mess. That's stinking flat out nearly-dead drunk.
