Ratings. He wants to do whatever he can to stay #1 in his time slot. I like U2 but not a fan of Bono politically. O'Reilly should be interviewing republicans running for certain seats across the nation or the RNC agenda. It is their week. We had to sit and listen to Ben A-Fup(aflleck) all week. How about Adam Sandler, Freddy Prinz if you want movie stars. Even democrates who are opposed to the war or want to talk about Kerry and his lack of leadership in the senate. Why Bono? He brings nothing to the table except to rip on Bush. Forget about your ratings. Keep the integrity of reporting the news and getting to the truth. If your head gets to big, it will explode. And alot of us here have the pins to pop it.

O'Reilly is insufferably egotistical and narcissistic. It's just unwatchable.

Ah, but remember! Both Bono and Bob Geldof said Bush has done more for AIDS and Africa than Bill Clinton ever did.

I hope the Bloviator does a better job with Bona than he did with Michael Moore.

I'm no fan of Bono.
(Gave up being a U2 fan after the Joshua Tree album).
But Bono has praised President Bush for what he has done for AIDS in Africa.

I've stopped watching The O'Bloviator. His attitude towards the Swiftvets disgusts me, among other things.

Why would I watch? I can predict what he's going to say. Actually his collection of weird sunglasses and stupid earings (Bono's thinking one ear or two today? Small one or go Mr. Clean style?) Hmmm.. are more interesting.

"Why would O'Reilly give Bono air play to discuss politics during the Republican National Convention?"
Because o'reilly is a self-serving idiot who is only out for the glorification of bill o'reilly?

Why would O'Reilly give Bono air play to discuss politics during the Republican National Convention?I'll take a shot at that question. Is it because he thinks foreigners should get to elect our President?
To: rineaux
U2 rocks, but I like Britney's politics better. Why doesn't O'Reilly have Johnny Ramone/Ted Nugent/Charlie Daniels or Alice Cooper on instead. Bonehead will just drone on about some stupid liberal cause. Ted Nugent could share some grilling tips with Bill.

FNC has been tacking left recently - more "mainstream".
if we want to stop it, we must break OReilly, knock him out of the #1 rating position.

O'Reilly should have Bono on and keep steering the conversation about "your new album", "critics say your band sucks now, how do you answer these charges", etc.
When Bono tries to drive the conversation back to politics he should say, "to be fair to our audience, I don't think many of them look to entertainers for their politics". "What office were you elected to?"
"Is Bono really your name? C'mon, don't you have a last name?"

"Did it look to you like Bill Clinton had herpes when you stood next to him as this photo was taken? Did he appear to be stoned that night?"

Bono's politics don't really favor the Dems as much as they favor the third world.
He generally does not speak ill of our side as much as he speaks in favor of getting the US to spend money in Africa.
