In buying a unit. Mr.C4E and I live in a rural area and can only bring in KFIam. KABC is none too good. So we are thinking of satellite radio and are interested in comparison programming before we decide what to go with. Thanks for all the replies.

New cars are being equipped with XM.I suspect it will be the VHS and Sirrus will be the Beta.

If you have children you may want to lean towards XM because the other has a Gay station and you may not want the kids to listen. There is no way to delete a station.
Reception in the outer areas for both is very good.

Thanks for all the replies.Sirius has two all-conservative talk channels, as well as a couple of religious stations. But if you're interested in certain syndicated talk radio hosts, you'd better check both service's web sites closely, because most of them only are available on one or the other, and many aren't available on either.

By the way, don't fall for any "Sirius might go under" rhetoric. It's not going to happen. Also, plenty of new cars are being sold with Sirius radios too, not just XM. Each service has signed deals with different automakers.
