uggh.. first time I went to DU in a long time. I read some of the thread. While there were a few (very few) rational people on that thread, the overwhelming majority were outright scary in their ability to rationalize violence against someone they disagree with. These people are absolutely insane, but I hope they keep it up because they will get crushed as a result.

The sucker punch is clear to me. I wanted to see more of the video that shows the sKerry supporter acting like a jerk, getting arrested, etc. Please don't think I'm looking for a reason to excuse the jerk.

The victim of this thug did exactly the right thing by backing away and disengaging. The attacker is facing a open-and-shut charge of second degree assault, captured for all the world to see in living color.

That's a class B felony, and if the DA doesn't plead it down to a misdemeanor (do you have a Dem DA there?) then that's one less Democrat voter.

The liberals claim the punch was "justified". Yeah right, like there was "justified" provocation. I was there, the thug tried to engage me and became frustrated because I just ignored the fool. And soon thereafter I witnessed the thug releasing a "justified" assault on the young conservative.

There are only six justifications under Washington law for the use of force, and none of them are "holding a Bush sign." Even "screaming in your face" is not a justification.

However, use of force sufficient for defense against assault is one of them. Would have been interesting to see the DU reaction if the victim had pulled out a defensive pistol while backing away from his attacker.
