Forest Dance

Some lovely glowing mushrooms, all ready for the dance,
They will be entertaining us, just give them half a chance.
The night has always been a place where fairy magic boards,
And every forest creature shows the talent that it hoards.

Awaiting only the arrival of imagination’s key,
Unlocking its potential, and thus setting young hearts free.
There is a twilight area beyond our wakeful sight,
And just before the dreamworld that commands our view of night.

It is upon that shadow stage that mushrooms glow and dance,
Where you can freeze their motion if you do much more than glance.
They are the shyest creatures, and they feel your sight somehow,
They’ll dance their dreams if we will put our eyes in twilight now.

"Come Back to the Water"

You took something
From the water.
There’s an old corpse,
Walking around,
You were supposed to leave
Him there in the water,
Leave him there to drown.

Yet you thought it was
Just water,
No different than a quick dunk for a lark,
And so all the minister
Did was get your clothes wet,
And your life hasn’t changed,
Because you took something from the water.

Come back to the water,
It’s time for you to drown,
Come back to the water,
It’s time for a burial at sea,
Come back to the water,
It’s time for new life to come forth,
Come back to the water,
And you’ll experience rebirth.
