"It must be hot in Texas, again."
Actually, it's unbelievably cool! The high today was 71; low tonight is supposed to be about 57! For it to be 71 degrees in the Texas Panhandle on August 11 is UNHEARD of!! It's usually about 105!
I'm thinking it's that danged global warming thing again.
Up here in cool, wooded, south-eastern British Columbia, the highs are in the 90s!
We're having a great summer, and the fire situation is non-critical.
Life is good.
Remember the Alamo!

I've finally found a Panhandle Freeper!
We've been curious since a trip in early March...we drove across I-40 from California towards OKC. On both legs (10 days apart) there was terrifying fog just east of Amarillo all the way past the TX/OK state lines. Hell, if we hadn't known Shamrock was where it was, we'd have missed it (wanted to spend the night there),
We though California drivers were bonkers, but the way traffic continued at 75 through that pea soup was eerie.
My question: How common is that fog?
