Have been following the SwiftVets for some time and made it a special point to watch their initial press conference in Washington. Also sent them a fair sum of money.
It is hard to tell how successful this will be. However, I think the naysayers are wrong!
We need to press on for several reasons and support the Swift Vets with everything we can. The reasons are many:
1. Kerry is the one who made his Vietnam service the hallmark of his campaign.
2. The SwiftVets have every right to be heard by their service and blood.
3. The Dems are worried or they wouldn't be sending their lawyer letters to TV stations.
4. It takes some of the Dem's time away from plotting other mischief.
5. It requires a fair amount of the Dem's attention, and distracted people make even more mistakes. [There is an old, but valid, prediction that goes: "When you're up to your ass in alligators, it's difficult to remember that your original objective was to drain the swamp!"]
6. IT IS A BIG MORAL BOOST TO OUR SIDE
..
something like the Dolittle Raid on Tokyo. It did not seem that meaningful at the time, but caused a seriously mistaken shift in the Japanese defense that came to haunt them later and a very significant boost to U.S. morale.
It is damn satisfying, and a hell of a morale booster, to the see Kerry and the Dems on the defense, rather than offense, for a change!
Have also been working on the thing below for a couple days and figured this was as good a time as any to post it
As seems obvious from the last six months or more of Dem attacks, Democrat liberals seem to have some miswired synapses in their brain. Kerry actions such as flip-flopping, treasonous congressional testimony, unpatriotic funding votes, and the like seem meaningless to them. Accordingly, the opposite Republican-Bush messages don't resonate in their miswired synapses.
Thus began a search for something that might penetrate the mysterious thought process of a Democrat liberal and get their attention. The bumper sticker below is the result:
If nothing else, they will remember it (I think) and perhaps even think a moment about Unfit for Command.
After searching all over the internet, a site was found which prints as few as one or two bumper stickers to individual customer orders, providing you have PayPal. If you want the above bumper sticker, you can go to: http://www.bumperactive.com/do/catalog/Search?likeText=animals The cost is about $5 each, of which 22% is donated to the selected charity, in this case the Republican Party. I am not connected to their site and get nothing from them. As you can see from this URL, the sticker comes with a BumperActive logo on the bottom. If you don't like it, that's what scissors are for! OTOH, if a conservative sees it and wants one, he will probably be smart enough to get one of his own using the URL.
I should add that the same Liberal synapses also find free speech abhorrent when the opinions differ from their own. Because the above sticker may trigger such a response, you might want to do what was suggested on another thread. If "keying" is a concern, simply go to a sign store and get a piece of magnetic backing. That way you can put the bumper sticker on the backing for easy removal. This would be when leaving vehicles in dangerous free fire liberal zones like the parking lots in: shopping centers, libraries, and book stores.
If you can do better than the above bumper sticker (since there are a lot of creative people here), please do not hesitate to do so. The BumperActive URL above can print a 3-inch by 11-inch bumper sticker from any graphic such as a jpg. The image must be 195 pixels high by 790 pixels long and you should allow for 25 pixels of the 195 pixels (on the bottom) for their logo. This is all explained on their site. BTW, their site seems to work better in InternetExplorer than in Netscape 7. As a graphics guide, this particular "animals against Kerry" bumper sticker was done in CorelDraw with the cat/dog/bush being standard CorelDraw clip art. The image was then exported as a jpg into PhotoShop. PhotoShop was used to crop the image, resize to the desired 195 x 790 pixels, and tune some of the colors. However, there are a number of image processors out there, many of which are free, that you can use.
Perhaps some Freeper in the region can talk BumperActive.com into adding Free Republic or the Swift Vets as a donatable cause. In that case I will change the selection of this "animals against Kerry" bumper sticker donation to whatever this group decides. With some clever bumper stickers, we can: Krumple Kerry, Boost Bush, and Help Our Supporters all at once (at least that's the theory). BumperActive are Texans by the way, even though they are in Austin.
Regards,
"THE SWIFT HAS HIT THE FAN" is going on my truck tomorrow.
