Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 | Still round the corner there may waitA new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 | Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I agree with you 100% there, Ramius. He's on that same weird path that Al Gore took. The one where all things ~should~ lead right to the Presidency and how DARE anyone or anything (including truth) get in the way.

The ends always justify the means.

I'm very worried about the amount of vote fraud sure to take place in the upcoming election.

No wonder guys giggle when I walk by. No, that's likely a different and as-yet unexplored reason. :-)

 How's that?

Roger that. Kerry thinks he is *entitled* to the job. He was born to it. But all the JFK parallel stuff really gives me the creeps.

...all the JFK parallel stuff really gives me the creeps. Reminds me of an odd little paperback I found in a waiting room in the 80's...published in the 70's...I think the title was
Joshua the Son of None or something like that...the clone of Kennedy, raised from infancy by wealthy people, one of whom is in on The Secret, with life very managed (like
The Boys From Brazil) right up to the big surprise ending at a presidential inauguration...
Yeah, that was a loooooong wait...

I like that!...but I think I'll go with Ramius'. Wet knot makes me think of ships...and there is that in what I am writing, but not for the scene I am wanting to use this in.
Ramius, may I modify that a bit and say someting more general liek "tighter than a politician in a compromising position" or something like that? Will have to explain why I am singling out Hillary if I name a specific person.
((((HUGS to y'all for helping out...y'all are great!))))

My comment from another thread... but I think it is apropos:

-----

In truth... the dirty little secret is that Bush is probably the best anti-war candidate to vote for. After getting beat up so much on Iraq, even as a lame duck he'd be very, very slow to go to war... and better yet... if he's re-elected he probably won't need to.

Kerry, on the other hand, if elected would probably have to prove himself somewhere on the planet by going to war.

Funny how life is, sometimes.

*shudder* Just the thought of what mess Kerry would get us into just to "prove" himself gives me chills.

That fella just ain't right.

    "Tighter'n Dick's hatband."
My daddy was fond of that one, and used it to denote fiscal conservatism and things difficult to open.

I just spoke to my family and my uncle is recovering well from his heart surgery; thanks for the prayers.

Alkhin, I will send you some more detailed comments later--have something I have to get done today--but generally speaking, the new script looks much improved over the first draft.

Why can't they answer? I think they're cute, especially when they're trying to be gross!
