Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 | Still round the corner there may waitA new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 | Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Dodges are high dollar... I got lucky with mine...
I don't know what it is around here... people hate Fordses, and love Chevyses... given that choice, I'd pro'ly take the Ford... our 92 Explorer that I traded in fer theDodge was very reliable... got $1500 on the trade in, and that was with 163k miles...
Dodge Cummins Diesel is hard tuh beat....

Macross 7 is pretty good. It makes a lot more sense if you have seen at least the original macross or the DYRL movie. Of all the Macrosses I like 7 the least but that is mainly because the rest are so good. Macross: Do You Remember Love is definitely on my top 3 favorite anime movies list (which one is number 1 depends on the day of the week). If you have seen the first season of robotech then Macross 7 might make some sense but it is best if you have seen the real Macross TV series. The DYRL movie is around on BT if you look for it. That is a 'legit' fansub since no one has the US rights to it.Thanks for the info Talon. This Macross 7 has at least 49 episodes. Is what you were talking about a movie or a series? Do you have a timeline for the Macross/Robotech series?

Heh, I remember I was in 2nd grade when Elvis died, and this girl in class was crying (I figure her Mom must've been an Elvis fan), but I didn't really know who Elvis was so I was like, "Who's Elvis Presley?" :)

This'll be mostly for around town and the occasional haulin' of crap.

More importantly ~IF I get it~ this'll be the first new vehicle I'VE had since I drove the Honda off the lot in 1984. I don't count the van since it's primarly for the Missus to drive.

When we lived up north there were some NASCAR fans in our church and they taught my oldest son one of his first phrases..........

...."Junky Ford!" ;^)

Heh, I remember I was in 2nd grade when Elvis died... Sheesh! I was headin' for my sophomore year at college.
I do remember bein' unemployed tho. I had spent most of the summer working for a family friend whose company built equipment for coal mining operations. With the coal strike, they just didn't have the demand. So I had three weeks "off" at the end of the summer.
I coulda used more money. But I had a heckuva tan...

    He he he!!!

I do!!

I wish I had an old VW...but I understand they are hard to drive in hot climes, due to the way the engine is cooled...I dunno exactly.

Seems like I vaguely remember hearing the news about the coal strike--have this vague image of Jimmy Carter responding inadequately to it--of course given it was Jimmy Carter I could be mixing that up with any number of other events. . .What brought the strike on again?

You've never been to a rural state up here, obviously. NASCAR is HUGH.

Heh...cracks me up that the local sewing shop doubles as a NASCAR merchandise place...NASCAR license plate holders and hats and bumper stickets and stuff.

What brought the strike on again? My memory ain't that good. Specifically, I don't know. Most likely it was contract negotiation time.

To: RosieCotton
Yep, there's a lotta racing here, too--has been since I was a kid, at least.

    Here for this afternoon.

My area was supposed to get hit about as badly by Charley as Orlando was hit. Really dodged the bullet. Things look very bad in Southwest Florida!

Did you see the photo of the 100+ gallon fish tank, full of water and fish, sitting on top of the remainder of the roof of a totally destroyed house? Strange and sad!!
