Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

an electric cheese slicer at the beach houseWhich takes 25 minutes to get set up, fercryinoutloud. A bit of overkill for 4 slices of cheese, IMO.

We're usually up early, that's not a problem. There's a small chance we may go up to our little county fair. Maybe. It sounded good when I never got out of the house. After this week, I just want to stay home more.

I loved our little county fair when I was little.
Last time I went, I finally understood why Dad hated taking us. Everything is expensive, it's crowded, crazy, and LOUD! And now it's even more pricey since they have a set price that you pay at the gate that gets you onto all rides, rather than having you buy tickets separately from the entry fee.
However, I'll still be tempted to go to the demolition derby if my brothers go. Speaking of loud and crazy...not to mention stinky, what with all the fumes that get produced.
I'm anything but consistant.

So...what does it mean if you dream of Jeannie with the light brown hair?

Our little fair still has mostly kids with their rabbits and chickens and pigs and dogs and beef steers and some horses. They've always had rides, but I've never even gone to that side of the fair. I want to see the ladies mounted drill team, if anything, because it is always so chaotic and out of control. This is their only gig of the year, I think, and they just really aren't any good ;~D

Ours does have all the 4H stuff...and that's the side of it I DO like. But when I went last time, my siblings wanted to hang out on the midway (whatever it's called?) with the games and food booths, and it was horribly loud. Noise bothers me more than anything...I have a very, very low tolerance for it.
I missed the horse shows last time! I saw a bit of one of the jumping trials (dunno the terminology) from a distance, but nothing up close. Got to pet some of the horses, though!

so... if you see a remote-control lawn-mower then you need to get someone else to 'get rid of' the people that no not positive influences?
Most or my dreams are action movies. What does it mean if you shoot someone in the head, steal the secret plans, blow up a helicopter and escape across the border on a train?

Just to brag on family a bit, for no real reason...;-)
We have a kilt wearer in the family...brother Bilbo is a darned good piper. Stephen (makin' a goofy face to Bill's right) has worn one on occasion, too...he plays guitar with Bill sometimes, and Bill is trying to talk him into taking up playing drums with the bagpipe band.

How about running through a moving Paris subway train, carrying a squirming dachshund in one hand and the secret plans in another, with bad guys in pursuit?
No, I didn't make that up, either.

That is SO COOL! What clan tartan is he wearing, may I ask? It looks somewhat similar to ours.

Ooo that is a tough one. For some reason I never take any secret plans to Paris...

Graham. The guy who helped get the local band started is a member of the clan - and the rest of them met the current head of the clan at a Highland Games in Georgia a few years ago and were adopted in a ceremony of sorts, as I understand. ;-) Bilbo came home just GLOWING, he was so excited!
Officially, I think the one we have the most *blood* ties with would be MacGregor...but I have no idea what that tartan looks like.
