New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
bread...milk...toilet paper...batteries...full tank of gas...
How strong of a storm is Charley likely to be? Looks kinda scary to me, but I know nuffin about how these storms work.
Here's the advisory. I don't know if they know yet.

I can count on one hand the number of days we've had rain since June...
I'd send you some if I could...we've even gone swimming in the rain 'cause of getting sick of waiting for sun.
Thunderstorms last night and today. At least they're not the torrential rains and hail type.
If'n you hadn't dropped outta first grade you could count tuh ten...
Seriesly tho, I know. Two years ago it was like that fer us. We had drought conditions for almost five years. It's just our turn to be soggy.
What worries me most is if we get hit again like we did with Isabel that we'll (as in the general area) lose even MORE trees than before. The City of Richmond alone lost about 10,000 trees in Isabel...
Probably a dumb question, but did you try soaking that bolt in WD40?
Boys are already up...early this morning! I'm off to start the day with them. See y'all later!
liquid wrench, WD40 and blunt force were used in copious amounts...
I'm thinking of sparing Uncle Sam some cash from a useless full-up study- provided I can convince the test planners that I'm right.
well... you'll have plenty of cheap firewood come winter...
still green here, which is hard tuh believe with as little rain as we've got...
I applaud you fer that, dear lady... that is an uncommon virtue in the capital region...
I figured...
It's pouring here! A nice soaking rain, been raining for a while. Steve had to go out sometime in the night to collect samples.
We have had the mildest summer I have ever seen. We've actually needed jackets some mornings! Usually we're running in the 100s and the earth is baked brown!
Our grass is really green!
Morning!
I'm keeping an eye on Charley. We've already decided if it turns and heads towards us we're gonna take a nice trip to anywhere we can find working electricity. :-D
The kids got up early this morning and decided to make waffles...Rebecca did the mixing and read it wrong...1 Tb of salt. :-) I went ahead and let them eat one. Good lesson on following directions. She also knows that 1Tb is too much for just about any reciepe...it called for 1/4 tsp.
Good morning! I'm off to school.

Castle Stormhands is straight up I-95. ;-)
Sawzall? ;~D
Good morning everyone! Time's running faster this morning or something, just woke up and I am already runnin' behind. Talk to you all this afternoon!
Oops! Heh...I remember one time my brother made bread and left OUT the salt. That wasn't very good either. With salted butter it was OK, but for sandwiches, it was very blah. And then there was the time I forgot the baking soda in the cookies I was making...my brothers dubbed them "rock cookies". They were edible only after much soaking in milk...
Good lesson to learn, though! Attention to detail...very important!
It's 60 here now and a high of a scorching 70 at noon.
