Mama Bear posted a picture of a prairie dog, Cyborg posted a picture of a squirrel who has internet access, and has been getting some of the same supplements they keep e-mailing me about. Hmmm.

A chipmunk is often called a ground squirrel. They all have very similar dietary habits, being rodents, but have adapted to their different environmental niches.

Prairie dogs are very sociable, living in large communal societies.

Squirrels have always reminded me of farmers, especially when I see them planting acorns, and patting down the earth. It wouldn't surprise me to see them sauntering around in bib overalls, with a grass stem lolling from their mouths.

Chipmunks are hands-down the cutest of them all. Scampering around in their cautious bustle. Elisabeth Taylor had one as a pet when she was a little girl.

(I've been waiting for the opportunity to post this new smiley I found, LOL)

That's cute. You are just an amazing font of knowledge, NnB. Thank you for the rodent lesson. I really didn't know the difference between them.

I recently learned that Jays are also acorn planters...."up hill planters" they are called. I have a Jay family (two parents and three babies) that come to my backyard each day for peanuts. They are such fun to watch. Even the babies know to bury their excess food for later consumption. Although, I am not so sure they ever come back for it. I keep them pretty well fed and they have become very tame.

Here is a photo of one of the babies on the patio crying for his breakfast. They think I'm their mother. LOL

Amy, yes, we are planning to come to the rally Friday. I will answer your mail later this evening or tomorrow morning.
