It's my opinion that we'd know a little bit more than the "facts" presented about each before having to make a choice...LOL! Take your word those are in fact facts, but I don't tend to have a lot of trust in tee-totalers or vegetarians, just on general principle...not that I'd hold it against them, aside from eying them askance...
I saw no names in your #7. It didn't appear that you were talking about specific persons....it looked like you were talking about politicians/govt in general.
"Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler."
Candidate A prodded the Japanese into attacking us and was caught with his pants down at Pearl Harbor. He consented to giving away into Soviet Slavery the eastern half of Europe we were ostensibly going to war (or at least Britain was) to free from NAZI serfdom. And he ran a government infiltrated by communist agents.
Candidate B actively worked to involve Britain in WW1, helping to make it a world war, and lead to the rise of Candidate C, about whom we all know too much already.
What would you propose doing to stop it?
???
Even though you are probably not the first person to be disenchanted by politicians...Good luck in getting all this to happen.
Even in 1848, Congressmen were already spending all their time in D.C. -- as in Abraham Lincoln's case. His wife went home to Springfield and couldn't talk him into doing likewise while the committees were meeting and debate continued on the floor of the House.
He basically stayed there the whole two years, and she was very disappointed.
The other side of the coin was, the vast majority of representatives served a single term and returned home, and nobody in official Washington knew or cared who they were.
Yes, but how does one tell a bad politician from a good? Many think Kerry is bad, and many think Bush is bad. How do you tell what is a lie? How do you get salary limits, when they vote their own raises? All this is good, but I don't think it will happen.
That is all great...assuming you are correct in your thinking and beliefs.
It sounds as though you would have only one party. Who determines who is thrown out of office, and who stays? What happens if people vote for someone you don't think deserves to be elected?
