Performers and Celebs at the RNC?
Me
Posted on 08/02/2004 9:08:52 PM PDT by RepubMommy
I'm curious to know who will be at the RNC performing....
TOPICS: Miscellaneous; Music/Entertainment; TV/Movies
KEYWORDS: antimichaelmoore; republicancelebs; rnc
Of course, we don't have the numbers that the Demilibs do but I'd like to see which ones are brave enough to come forward and back their President. I recently heard Lara Flynn Boyle would like to be used as a Hollywood voice for W (perhaps they will feed her?) and have heard some buzz that Jessica Simpson may perform. Believe it or not, I also read that Britney is a Bush supporter as well, but is this a good thing?

Well Nancy Sinatra rode in with the Rolling Thunder veterans when they endorsed President Bush at the White House this Memorial Day.

maybe they could get
this guy"Second Thoughts on George Bush"
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak my mind. I lost my job this past year. When Clinton was president I was secure and prosperous, but in the last year we had to close our operations. I was forced out of the place where I had worked for 34 years.
Not a single government program was there to help me. Just so you know I lost both my sons fighting for their country. I lost them in Iraq and for what? So that Bush's oil buddies can get rich? My pain is indescribable.
I simply have nothing left. How can Bush call himself a Christian when he neglects people like me? I am a senior citizen with various medical problems. I'm not in a position where I can begin a new career, all because of President Bush.
Mr. Bush, I dare you to look me in the face and tell me you are a compassionate man!! I dare you to look me in the face and tell me you are a Christian. If I had any money left, I would donate it all to the Democratic Party. If Al Gore had been elected in 2000 I would still have a job, a home and most importantly, a family.
Regards,
Saddam Huessein

I'm thinking WYNONNA! But, no, I don't know for sure. Try the RNC website; there should be some preview of entertainment.

That's interesting. I've always thought she was a Republican. But it's really interesting in light of the remake of "The Manchurian Candidate."
I think the producers intended Kerry to be seen as the MC and Streep to be Hillary.
I hope those impressions have some traction.

I meant Tina Sinatra as the exec. producer/owner of "Manchurian Candidate."
She's the one I'm assuming and hoping is Republican.

I think Mel Gibson should address the Republican National Convention.
He's had tremendous support for his films among conservatives. And his appearance would certainly be a boost to President Bush's re-election.
"Payback" -- so to speak.

I'm not sure Gibson is a Bush backer. I think he may be more of a "Constitution Party" backer.

Do you remember the "joke" that was told to Pat Boone on a plane that became so famous? Do you remember who told it?

It was told by Earl Butz to Boone, shortly before he resigned as Secretary of Agriculture, very shortly before. Does that jog any memories?

Yep. :) That is about the only part of the joke that can be posted on a family friendly forum. It takes me down memory lane. I was in a very elite law school at the time, and none of us elitists had a clue what "loose shoes" meant. But there was this odd ball white blue collar guy who somehow slipped through the net and got into the law school, who helped us all with it at the commons dinner table. Thanks heavens he was around, or I still wouldn't know. :) And of course, while back in those pre internet dark ages, before rocks had cooled, the mainstream newspapers and the mainstream media would not publish the joke, the university newspaper had no such hesitations. So at least we got the text.
And there you have it.

Let's hope they're keeping a lid on the names and we'll all be happily surprised.
They've had four years to plan this.

To: Dr. Eckleburg; All
I've seen the partial list: Sara Evans, Lee ann Womack, NYPD Daniel Rodriguez (he sings opera), actor Ron Silver ( a known Liberal who supports Bush on the war, imagine that), Elisabeth Hasselbeck, can't remeber the rest.
