Thank you! It's a thankless vocation, especially with a female teenager, but one I entered into willingly.
WAS I NUTS?!?!?!

Naw, your not Nuts... I think teenagers in general are the ones that are nuts. I know I was there once. :)
I am further away from being a teenager than I care to admit, but with all the good and bad in the world that most teenagers have point and click access to, I cannot blame you as a parent (albeit a stepparent), for being hair trigger on your response to what they have access to. If she is a good kid, I am sure that down the road here she will be very appricative of some of the guidance that you put on her now.
I kind was the opposite as a teenager. If i was told not to do it, that was pretty much a surefire way to get me to do it.(whatever it was..) I had to learn by touching the stove to see how hot it was... After a while.. all my parents nagging and trying to redirect me finally began to sink in, and I cannot thank them enough for the way they raised me. Kids are smarter these days I think they catch on quicker than we realize, but until your stepdaughter catches on, I would continually tease about the eye rolling and the heavy sighs... but thats just me, and probably a good reason why I don't have kids. :)
