I forgot to mention that I like being single, debt free and able to do what I enjoy. I like the peace and quiet at home and when I drive. I like not having someone nagging me all the time or spending everything I earn.
If I wanted companionship I would get a dog.
Marriage isn't for everyone, to be sure.
If you end up getting a girlfriend, sounds like she'd be getting a dog.
However, I sense that this will never be a problem for you, or for her.
