"Orlando Bloom is to play the new James Bond.

However, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' heartthrob will not be replacing Pierce Brosnan as 007 - instead he will star in a movie about the suave spy' s younger days.

A source at Hollywood studios Miramax, who are making the film, revealed: "The story that Orlando will play Bond is true but we are doing a rather novel film about the young James Bond."

I’m have a difficult time picturing Legolas lighting a cigarette, ordering a very dry martini “Shaken, not stirred”, and flirting with Miss Moneypenny.

The elf Legolas from Lord of the Rings

Yes, like most actors, there is a 95% chance he's a lefty.

I'm sure some helpful little Freeper will come along and tell us just how much of a lefty he is -

Thus ruining my enjoyment of yet ANOTHER handsome young actor I like to watch. :)

Not sufficiently masculine for my taste. He was good in "Pirates," but in photos (as above) he looks very girly. And his admiration for Johnny Depp does suggest leftism :-).

Too girlish - I agree.

Connery was the best bond and he looked like a thug in a suit!

If he gains about 20 lbs, I think he'd be okay as Bond. As skinny as he is now, I think he'd look ridiculous in a tux.

Come look at my 13-year-old daughter's room, and you'll know...
