I heard that Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rudy Giuliani, and John McCain are going to speak. Is that correct? Are there any more speakers? What are your thoughts on the choices?
I think putting McCain there is a mistake. It's just giving the man more attention, which he certainly doesn't deserve after backstabbing the Republican Party. Seems pathetic of the party to have him speak, kind of like saying "Ohhhhh thank you so much Mr McCain for staying with us."
Schwarzenegger on the other hand is a pretty good speaker despite his accent and somewhat culturally liberal politics.
I'm not a big McCain fan, but how did he stab the GOP in the back?
He was very warm to Kerry during the VP propaganda story. And he consistently undermines the DoD by taking Kerry's position on the war, which is to add more troops, because apparently he's one hell of a sore loser.
It would be nice if featured spekers at the convention were actually representative of the party's core beliefs.
I can hold my nose about Arnold. Sure, he doesn't represent Republican values; but he doesn't talk trash about President Bush like McCain does.
