The Patriot

His brother died that day in Pearl,
The sneak attack took place.
He lost a cousin on D-Day,
He still can see his face.
The fight was tough and many died,
But freedom they would save.
He fought the Nazis gallantly,
He was more scared than brave.
But he and other’s pressed the fight,
And soon prevail they did.
He came back home to tickertape,
Back home to wife and kid.
He raised his family, they raised theirs,
Now all have moved away.
His wife passed several years ago.
He misses her each day.
What’s happened to the land he loves,
The one he fought hard for.
He can’t go out for walks at night,
He has to lock his door.
He stays at home and reads a bit,
At least his dog still cares.
The young folks drive by in their cars,
Their music loud, their stares.
He flies Old Glory everyday,
He takes her in at night.
He sometimes wishes that he knew,
Just what could make it right.
I’ll tell you now we owe this man,
Much more than we can pay.
Let’s take our country back for him,
We need to start today.
Right now our troops are overseas,
Like he was long ago.
When they come home, home must be here,
The home we used to know.
Turn off the TV, get outside,
Go shake your neighbors hand.
Vote out the leftist liberals,
Get loud and take a stand.
America, is ours to save,
From outside and within.
Let’s keep her strong and keep her great,
So home she’ll be again.

In an age when indoor plumbing has made out houses obslete,
Democrats try to sell us two Johns they're saying smell sweet.
They'll surely fool some, the dense, the naive and the dumb,
but not we who have been there and remember, where they're coming from.

Democrats have promised the moon and the stars, and heaven right now.
They offer more pork and baloney than your arteries would need to go pow!
A billionaire and a millionaire, the democrats offer for President and Vice,
Pretending they're feeling our pain-isn't that nice?

Kerry and Edwards , a pair of playboys with nary a clue,
of the size of the crisis this world's going through,
or their own lack of talent to finish the chore,
else they too would be rooting for Bush in 04.

Another contribution...

I remember the first time I kissed you
I wonder if you linger on it, as I do
I remember cold Parson's Green Station
And our mutual hesitation.
We've always had that quality, you and I:
Truly, we can never say good bye
I was going to kiss you on the cheek
And then I got something I had hoped to seek
Your lips met mine and my heart ignited
Feeling joy at our souls united
Do you remember what I then whispered in your ear
Admittedly, it was said through tears -
"I love you with every drop of me."
As it was then, it will always be.

Perhaps I'm a fool to linger over this
But I joyfully remember our first kiss.
I hope that what the future has in store
Is that we will come to love each other more.

Time passed and other kisses I remember
I recall one this past December
You entranced and enraptured me with your kiss
I had never known such perfect bliss
You drew out my soul with your lips
And I felt all of my control freely slip
And then there was a feeling, sweet and new -
I felt as if I melted into you.
You had my heart, my soul, every bit of me
And as it was then, it will always be.

Perhaps I'm mad to linger over this
But I remember each and every kiss
I still hope what the future has in store
Is that we will come to love each other more.

Time moved on, and so did we
And as did the force of destiny
We are not in the same place as we were
But every day, the same feelings stir
Perhaps I'm a fool, I cannot say
Maybe you'll return to me someday

And perhaps you may let me linger
In the entwining our lips and fingers
And when we break our embrace
I'll look at your lovely face
And we'll speak of what is yet to be -
A love lasting for eternity.

Then I'll have been wise to linger over this,
The bright memory of our soft kiss.
For it would be a portent of what was to be
The love of my life returning to me.

Regards, Ivan
