First day of Maternity Leave and my 3 cats all try to kill each other, at 5 am.
1 month to go on the baby count down. YIKES!
Any suggestions on how to bring the baby home? I know the receiving blanket theory, any other suggestions?
Have a great day all!
Suzanne
Best Wishes!!!
Best wishes for a safe, healthy, blessed delivery!
Just went through that with my bittygirl. We have a dog and a cat. We let both get to know the nursery a little beforehand. When we brought her home, they were curious, but so far neither seems jealous. For the first month she slept in a pack-n-play bassinet in our room, nex to the bed. Now, she goes to sleep in her crib, and usually ends up in our bed nursing. Last night, she slept through the night in her crib!!! WooHoo
Ben (the cat) likes to sit in the baby bouncer and in the stroller. I also have a picture, somewhere, of him sitting in the baby swing. If I let him, he would take over the carseat too.
Best wishes to you! Our experience with babies and cats is to make sure the kitties receive extra love so they won't be jealous of baby. They have a tendency to like everything connected with the baby, crib, toys, blankets etc. One time we found one cat sleeping cheek to cheek with baby...horror of poorly trained mother (the kitties had not trained me well). They also love babyfood.
As for msdrby and the kitty in the baby accessories, send me a link to those pictures !!! We can have much fun with those !!!
I think 5 am is the standard "run through the house hissing and yowling" muster time. At least my 3 cats seem to think so. And if that doesn't work, the 5:30 am "let's all play King of the Mountain on the Sleeping Humans" game is always fun.
Congratulations on your soon-to-be new arrival! I'm sure your cats will be ticked.
I picked out a special newborn one piece zip-up romper to take to the hospital with me to bring home my baby. He was a bit late and it barely fit him. I kept that outfit separte from the rest of his baby things, in my own dresser as a reminder of exactly what his size was at birth. It's one of my treasures.
