What I'm missing is history. I usually either go for biography or good historical fiction that captures the particular time period. That's a pretty wide area, but any suggestions?Manchester's biography of General MacArthur was good.

I'll have to check that one out. I read Michael Schaller's MacArthur bio recently and it was informative but not fair to MacArthur, IMO. Is Manchester pro-MacArthur?
