I believe it's in the HSV (Hobbit-Hole Standard Version) :)

So how's things with 2J today? I'm on the second-last page of this book I've been editing all week--yay!

I'm doing good. Have had a great day so far. Matthew is due a birthday party, right? He has one every other year. Except this year, we can't really afford an all-out party. So we sat down and had a series talk. Came to the agreement that we would invite his good friend to go out for a happy meal (they are a 1.99 on Thursdays), and then bowling!

This friend of his is the little boy who's brother is so sick with leukemia. Every week, it just so happens every Thursday, his mom has to take his brother to the doctor and Matthew's friend has to stay home with his teenage sister. Ugh, huh? LOL! So, we got him out of the house for the day today! His mom was already home when we dropped him off.

We went to eat lunch first and boy, could this kid EAT! He had his eaten before we had ours unwrapped! I was mortified and offered to get him something else, but he politely declined. Very very courteous kid.

Then we went bowling and they had a great time. I overheard him say to Matthew "Boy, are you lucky, getting to go bowling for your birthday!" (He didn't know I had two "bowl for free" coupons from the library that the boys got when they finished the Summer Reading Club.)

After a great time bowling, we made our way to Braums and had ice cream cones. Again, he woofed it down! LOL

So for very little money, I provided this boy a time away from home, and my son a wonderful time with a good friend on his birthday.

I talked to the boy's mom and asked if we could frequently get him on Thursday and do something...like just go to the park, the mall, the zoo or something...Matthew would love it. And the boy would be out of his house and having fun instead of being stuck with his sister! LOL

I would love it because this kid is so well-mannered, funny and outgoing...he was a pleasure to be around.

I told his mom as much and she just beamed.
