Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Not too bad actually. Just got back from going to WalMart with my mom. They've pushed up the school calendar, so Becky goes back on August 11th, instead of the end of August.
We bought her the shirts and pants, which are much cheaper at Wallyworld than at the uniform store. She also got new socks and unmentionables...LOL! Oh yeah, and a new lunchbox, of course!

Looks like I got another sad thing going on with a loved one right now. I just got a call.
My friend Benny had a stroke. A bad one. This is the man that I've called "Dad" for the last 20 or so years.
I can't call the hospital to talk to him because he can't talk. I am going to try to get there tomorrow night before visiting hours are over. He's in ICU. I don't know if they'll let me in. His real daughter refuses to go see him. Maybe I'll just claim to be her.

That's good news! I am sure it feels better in summer with all those shade trees available. I would love to play with Bay again! :-)
