The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I know. But better to nip it in the bud before the Dwarves join in. (We already know what they'd say about the elves...)

What, you think the Dwarves would find something sarcastic to say about the Elves in PJ LotR? I can't imagine them doing that. . .

There have been a few mini-dramas over the years.

You mean worse that the What-Is-Lembas argument?

The thought of PJ's LOTR on MST3K

I've MSTied all three of them... it gets easier the more often you see them. Also, I find each successive movie is more MSTiable... TTT easier than FOTR, ROTK easier than TTT.

But then, I have found I'm not a big fan of PJ's interpretation of the books, TTT and ROTK especially.

"I've MSTied all three of them... it gets easier the more often you see them."

That's kinda what I mean: once you start MSTYfying movies, it gets easier and easier--it's kind of addictive, actually. . .

For example:

"I, Robot"

Prequel to "You, Robot", and "He/She, Robot"!

Nooooo! We didn't mean to scare you away! We promise to play nice--at least I do, though of course I can't speak for the Dwarves when they show up. . . :)

True. I find, though, that the better a movie is, the less likely I am to start MSTying it... the first time I watch it, anyway. If I start throwing one-liners at the screen on a first viewing, though, the movie is generally pretty bad. ;)

Yeah, usually if I like a movie I won't MSTYfy it on the first viewing or two. But if I watch a movie enough times, even if it's a movie I like, I'll start finding stuff I feel compelled to affectionately poke fun at. For instance the first time Darth Vader walks on in "Star Wars", I can't help wanting to say, "This is CNN". . .

Evenin' folks!

Sitting here watching South Park and waiting for the 10 o'clock news. There's been a news van parked down the street all day and apparently a small child was found and her parents are lost.

According to the local security guy, police suspect foul play and were dredging the lake earlier. *sigh* As bad as this sounds, I hope the parents are found safe, even if that means they abandoned the little girl.

Evenin' Ruthy!

What a terrible story... hope it ends up having a better ending than it sounds like now!

We are getting ready to head downtown to Lakefair... gonna have some carnival eats, browse the booths and such.
