This is very sad. The leftist in America should understand that this is what will happen if their plans to legalize prostitution in an effort to make it "safer" succeed.

They did it in Nv and it has not stopped the street walkers even though they are in violation of the law. It did clean up the brothels I understand..but what good is that if they still walk the streets?

many were having to settle for $20 - or even less for oral sex.Someone should teach these young women how to design handbags.

"We can't expect to get $100 when these young things are offering it for much less just around the corner," said South Auckland prostitute, Cindy, who has been working the streets for 15 years. Does anyone have the progressive photos of the prostitute was arrested over and over? After 15 years on the street is it any wonder the customers go for younger, fresher, cheaper hookers?
And the girls are selling it so cheap because (A) they likely live at home (or a cheap hostel) and (B) they've been brought up to "understand" that sex isn't worth much (it certainly isn't prized or cherished, plenty of people just give it away).

Where once a sex worker could expect $100 for her services, many were having to settle for $20 - or even less for oral sex. "As a sex worker, I find this exploitation to be degrading! How cheap do they think I am???"

arging less does not mean more work. It just means you work harder for the same money." Old joke:
Hooker: "It was a rough night! I only made seventy dollars and fifty cents!"
Pimp? "Huh? Which one of 'em was it that gave you the fifty cents?"
Hooker: "They all did!"

But Auckland Prostitutes Collective head Kate Dickie was sceptical of suggestions that decriminalisation of the industry had led to aggressive competition on the streets. "Charging less does not mean more work. It just means you work harder for the same money." Can Someone who speaks english translate that for me?

Yeah, after 20 years walking the streets, a hooker is going to look pretty "used up." On the other hand, when it is really tried (as Guiliani did with Times Square), prostitution can be reduced.

Sounds like a situation where minority youth especially are being victimized.

"Unfortunately, prostitution does attract undesirables, which in turn creates more crime and disorder," he said. The same could be said of homosexuals and drug addicts.

I think it means: they do the same amount of degrading work for less money.

In Las Vegas they keep child prostitutes off the Vegas Strip by enforcing a curfew for anyone under 18 after 10PM.

Unfortunately, prostitution does attract undesirables Translation: the "hot" sluts become "trophy" second wives or girlfriends for wealthy middle-aged men.
To: wagglebee
When one has established the fact of what they are willing to do for money, the only thing left to decide is the price.

"...how to design handbags."Hehe...
But who's going to teach them how to successfully market them?

Sounds like the day I was really thirsty but passed up a chance to buy sour milk. Who in their right mind would pay to have sex with Rudy?
