I'm sorry, I thought you were making a joke about the Bent One. Fiance sat down, when she got up, it was turned 90 degrees. Sorry.

I duck out for a starbucks for five minutes, and return to some very helpful input! I may not get my computer fixed, but it's sure making my Monday morning alot more fun!

I've played with the monitor controls with no luck. I'll try the desktop properties when I get home, that seems to be perhaps the way to go. Checking with Dell is a good idea too.

In defense of my VK, he may have thought he saw a troll and was trying to squash it to death.

My kids did this to one of our computers last month and the easiest way for me to fix it was to do a system restore to the most recent point available. Go to help and type in restore and that should get you started to walk you through to get things back to normal.

If you are talking about your system tray icons moving to the side rather than the bottom, just click and hold the tray in a blank spot and move it wherever you like. The little move symbol should show when to find the right spot to click and move.

A least that is the way mine works.

I tried your idea with the kid's computer, but they would not move. The only fix for me was a time warp system restore to an earlier date when I knew the computer was working ok. That's about the only thing I like about WinXP.

No, it wasn't just the tray icons, it's the whole darn desktop. I have a picture of Mt. Rainier for my desktop, and it's now lying on its side.

I've got Dell up in another window trying to communicate with them. I had assumed it was a Windows issue, but you all have made me think it may be a Dell problem.

If you repeatedly throw kitty onto the keyboard, maybe it will right itself!
