I'll take ORIONs anytime. We deploy to land bases with barracks and beer available. Bad part is flying around in planes older than I am with pilots younger. It gets...interesting from time to time, like over the North Sea at 300 feet at night in the Winter storms. With the heater broken. For twelve hours straight.

Weirdest thing that happened to us was a methane pocket that we hit off the coast of Somalia. It made the sea look like we were cruising in milk.

Then there was a comet that covered a fifty-degree arc over the skies of the Indian Ocean in 1994. Arrived on my 25th birthday.

THEN, we saw a large, green lizard-looking beast rise out of the waters off of Japa--- Nevermind. It's classified.
