Daniel 5:1-9
Belshazzar is the king of Babylon at this time. Belshazzar held a great feast for thousands of his nobles. v.2 The king had the vessels which his father had taken out of the temple of the house of GOD, in Jerusalem, so that they could drink from them.
v.5 Suddenly the fingers of a mans hand emerged and began writing opposite the lamp stand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace.
v.6 The king's face grew pale and his thoughts alarmed him.The king called aloud to the wise men of Babylon and no one could read or make known the interpretation.

v.11-12 The queen entered the banquet hall and spoke ...11 "There is a man in your kingdom in whom is a spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, illumination, insight and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him. And King Nebuchadnezzar, your father, your father the king, appointed him chief of the magicians, conjurers, Chaldean's and diviners.
12 "This was because an extraordinary spirit, knowledge and insight, interpretation of dreams, explanation of enigmas and solving of difficult problems were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belshazzar. Let Daniel now be summoned and he will declare the interpretation."

v.13-22 Daniel was brought in to the king. They go over the history of Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel. The power of Nebuchadnezzar was absolute, his empire was a unit.

v. 23 Belshazzar's sin against GOD...23 but you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines have been drinking wine from them; and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which do not see, hear or understand. But the God in whose hand are your life-breath and all your ways, you have not glorified.

v.24-31 Daniel interpretation of the inscription...26 "This is the interpretation of the message: 'MENE'--God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it.
27 " 'TEKEL'--you have been weighed on the scales and found deficient.
28 " 'PERES'--your kingdom has been divided and given over to the Medes and Persians."
That very night Belshazzar was slain and the new king became Darius the Mede.

What did you learn about the vessels from the temple?

What does Belshazzar's already know and does not act on?

I just wanted to share with you folks that we will get to the really good stuff hopefully in 2 more days. My personal experience since I started posting my thoughts so far has been utter chaos in my home. From unexpected house guess for the week to family members wanting to talk all night about life. I take this as a good sign. GOD BLESS and PRAISES to the MOST HIGH.

FYI
High winds, hail slam Midwest

Wind gusts up to 80 mph

Wednesday, July 14, 2004 Posted: 4:15 PM EDT (2015 GMT)

(AP) -- Thousands of homes and businesses had no electricity Wednesday in the path of a long line of thunderstorms that stretched from Tennessee to the Great Lakes.

Wind gusted to 80 mph in Kentucky and Tennessee on Tuesday, and hail stones as big as softballs were reported in parts of Illinois, the National Weather Service said.

As the storms passed through central Illinois, a tornado leveled a manufacturing plant Tuesday at Roanoke and roofs were blown off several houses, officials said.

Workers at Parsons Manufacturing plant in Roanoke, about 20 miles east of Peoria, went to storm shelters before the twister struck.

"The sound was so intense you had to hold your ears shut," office worker Dave McClallen said.

Utilities around Kentucky reported about 254,000 homes and businesses lost power during the storms, including 115,000 in the Louisville metropolitan area, the most there since a 1974 tornado.

Traffic lights remained out Wednesday in much of Louisville. Chip Keeling, a spokesman for Louisville Gas & Electric, said power had been restored to about 40,000 customers by Wednesday morning but some might remain in the dark for an extended period.

About 60,000 customers were blacked out in central Tennessee, but service had been restored to about half of them by dawn Wednesday, Nashville Electric Service reported.

Some 51,000 customers were still without power Wednesday morning in Indiana, down from a high of up to 136,000 during the storms, said Cinergy-PSI spokeswoman Angeline Protogere. Some might have to wait until Thursday for the lights to go on again, she said.

One man was killed in Indiana when a tractor tipped over on him while he cleaned up storm debris, officials said.

Utilities said at least 10,000 customers lost power in Michigan.

Funnel clouds were spotted in Wisconsin near Manitowoc and Clarks Mills. One touched down near Clarks Mills, damaging farm homes and other rural buildings, said Manitowoc County Sheriff's Sgt. Andrew Colborn.

RE the vessels

SOME THINGS ARE HOLY, SET APART TO A HOLY GOD.

Some things are not. Do not commonize, profane that which is holy.

B. knew enough of the history of N to have behaved more wisely. He foolishly did not.

It was a bit like Billdo and Shrillery. They know the Bible. They knew the standards of behavior called for in the Oval Office.

They said, essentially, 'up yours' to Almighty God and the people of this Republic.

In due course, the handwriting on the wall will come for them. Alas, enough people agree with them, it appears to be coming for the Republic as a whole.

Blessings to you and your family. Great to have discussions about the issues of life! PRAISE GOD!

Daniel 6
v.1-10 Darius was forming a government 120 satraps over the kingdom one of which would be Daniel.
The satraps became jealous of Daniel and began trying to find grounds of accusation against Daniel in regard to government affairs. They could find none unless they could find it against his GOD.
The satraps went before the king that he should establish a statute and enforce an injunction that anyone who makes a petition to any god or man besides the king for thirty days should be cast into the lions den. Therefore King Darius signed the document.
v.10 Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.
v.11-25 These men came by agreement and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his GOD. They spoke before the king saying Daniel one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you or the injunction but keeps making his petition three times a day.
The king was deeply distressed and set his mind on delivering Daniel till sunset and could find no way. So the king ordered Daniel to the lions den and v.16 The king spoke and said to Daniel, " Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you."
The king's sleep had fled from him. The king arose at dawn and went in haste to the lions den. v.22 "My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have committed no crime."
No injury whatever was found on Daniel, because he had trusted his GOD. The men who had maliciously accused Daniel and there wives and there children were cast into the lions den and before they hit the bottom the lions overpowered them and crushed there bones.
Darius wrote to all peoples, nations and men of every language, My your peace abound.
v.26-28 "I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men are to fear and tremble before the God of Daniel;
For He is the living God and enduring forever,
And His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed,
And His dominion will be forever.
27
"He delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders
In heaven and on earth,
Who has also delivered Daniel from the power of the lions."
28 So this Daniel enjoyed success in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thoughts...Notice how the satraps and the commissioners behave, do you see people acting in this same way today? Do you think GOD does?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!What did you learn about GOD'S power in this chapter?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!According to 2 Thessalonuans 1:6-10 how does what happened to Daniel fit in with what GOD will do in the future?
2 Thessalonians 1: 6-10
6 For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,
7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,
8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
10 when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed--for our testimony to you was believed.
