(1) The answer is eight and the question is "What is the number of medals Kerry won in Vietnam?"

With all due respect, that's incorrect. I have the maggot's service record in front of me. He "won";

  1. Bronze Star w/ Combat V
  2. Combat Action Ribbon
  3. National Defense Service Medal
  4. Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon
  5. Navy Unit Citation
  6. Silver Star
  7. Purple Heart
  8. Purple Heart
  9. Purple Heart
  10. Vietnam Service Medal w/ 4 Bronze Stars
  11. Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal
  12. Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Medal Color w/ Palm
  13. Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Civil Actions Medal, First Class Color w/Palm)

So Alex (Liz), the correct answer is Thirteen.

(2) The answer is four and the question is, "What are the number of weeks Kerry spent in Vietnam?"

Again, I hate to say - that's incorrect.

The POS technically had TWO tours "in" Vietnam. Even though his first tour was spent below decks on the USS Gridley (DLG 21) as an Electronics officer and never set foot 'in country' during that tour. Oh and that was a 'short' tour also as he came back to go to school (training) in Coronado Ca.

And during his highly touted, award winning "2nd tour" he spent slightly less than four months "in country" before buggin' out.

I know this is only a game but the premise must be based on some facts.

no offense ok? :-)

First, the number of medals Kerry won is eight:

Medals awarded by defunct foreign goverments don't count.

Unit citations are won by the unit. Kerry didn't 'win' it.

So, subtracting 10, 11, and 13 (foreign governments that no loger exist) and 4 and 5 (unit citations) the answer is:

Eight.
