Word For The Day, Friday, June 18, 2004
6/18/04 | Slip 18

Posted on 06/18/2004 5:22:50 AM PDT by Slip18

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Haven’t checked my mood ring yet. Y’all behave yourselves, ya hear? Principal JimRob is still out of town. I expect the utmost respect on this thread today. The Mods have been overworked lately.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer.

Toroid noun:
Pronunciation: Tor-roid (how easy is that?)

1) A surface generated by the rotation of a plane closed curve about an axis lying in the plane and not intersecting it
2) A body whose surface has the form of a toroid.

3) Not in the dictionary, but in other words a DONUT would be toroidal (adverb). This is for xs and her Dunkin’ Donut friends. “I’d like a chocolate toroidal, please.

Do you have the hiccups this morning? You come in fourth, but you're still in the money.

This was Cyber's word. Doesn't it sound just so techie?

"He gazed at her longingly across the counter of the Krispy Kreme; their eyes met, and that was the beginning of a toroid relationship..."

I don't even think I have to click on the "soup." Would that be Tiger P. Soup? The P would be tarazoidal, though.

So you by accident get an A+, even though we know it's not brand new news.

As I traversed the toroid, the artificial gravitational pull that held me to it released and I fell off, but there was no bottom so I never landed.

Then I woke up and had to go to class.

Eschewing the toroids from DD is why I'm back to being a flat-bellied, steely-eyed killer, instead of a paunchy, middle-aged couch potato. Closing in on 30 lbs down since January.

Even convinced secret to get religion.
