In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Havent checked my mood ring yet. Yall behave yourselves, ya hear? Principal JimRob is still out of town. I expect the utmost respect on this thread today. The Mods have been overworked lately.
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer.
Toroid noun:
Pronunciation: Tor-roid (how easy is that?)
1) A surface generated by the rotation of a plane closed curve about an axis lying in the plane and not intersecting it
2) A body whose surface has the form of a toroid.
3) Not in the dictionary, but in other words a DONUT would be toroidal (adverb). This is for xs and her Dunkin Donut friends. Id like a chocolate toroidal, please.
Bless his heart! That hurts me.
There is a seagull at the beach we go to down at Miramar that hangs around with his wings hanging down low. People feel sorry for him thinking that something is wrong with him. He gets fed more than the other gulls as a result.
I have Swiss steak going in the crockpot. It smells WONDERFUL!!
Cool-a Father's Day outing. CG is having lunch with his son while I go to a Southern Living at Home party/luncheon. Then we are going out to dinner with his daughter and her hub tomorrow night.
That sounds hilarious!!!!!!!!!
Great...I'm pulling a Gabz and talking to myself!
This gull doesn't get fed by guests - the staff discourage it........but every once in a while it will take advantage.
Scared the bejeezes out Jax when it landed on her table (she just had to sit at a different one than us) It landed on the salt shaker, which immediately fell over - it was rather funny.
That is funny! We go to a public beach, and people feel compelled to bring bread crumbs for the gull beggers. It p's us o when we are trying to chill in our little beach chairs, and they start swooping around us. Fortunately, we haven't gotten crapped on yet. If/when it happens, it will be UGLY!
Sounds like tomorrow is family day all around!!!!!!
There's a kids' fishing tournament that we missed last year and after that we're going to head to our favorite surf fishing/beach spot on the bayside of the peninsula. and the best part is - we're only 15 miles from home.
Alka-Seltzer
And now I'm pulling a Laura Earl!!!!!!!!!
I sure hope your hubby feels better when he wakes up-toothaches are the pits.
I would have given a lot to have seen that seagull land on the kiddo's table-I'll bet that was a riot.
He just got up, but is still in major pain.
As to the gull - it wanted that burger SO bad!!!!! And I didn't have my camera, go figger. It was really funny.
The dog is telling me that it is time to feed the deer so she can go out and watch them eat and entice them into playing-and I'd better go light the grill, too-back later...
I'll probably pull a lot of them next week when CG is in Atlanta. :(
That sounds like such fun! LulaBelle would LOVE to have deer friends to play with.
I've been in a house cleaning frenzy trying to get over seeing the pictures of Paul Johnson. Now I just have a headache.
A+, Texan5! Nice poem, as usual.
Oh, sheesh, Gabz. Hopefully, he'll get some sleep and be out of pain for a while.
Jax had one of her stations on the TV when I saw the thread here - I've had no news on since.
she doesn't need to be hearing that kind of stuff, let alone seeing anything about it.
That is hysterical, Texan5! The does and the dog chasing each other.
