Oh, I know he'll turn out okay. I had my own failures in high school and a couple in college.
BUT, the issue here is that he has a dream of playing football for Virginia Tech. There are two realities here:
1) He is not good enough as a football player (especially a lineman) to get recognized for a scholarship, or to even be recruited. If he got admitted to Virginia Tech there is a strong possiblity he could walk on. Linemen have some success at doing that, however...
2) To get into Virginia Tech, he has to have a 3.5 GPA. There's no way around that.
This is HIS dream. His mom and I would prefer he go to our alma matter. Still, we'd like to help make this happen for him, or at least give him a competitive shot.
Something is not connecting to make him see that he has to work for this.
I'll pray he figures it out in time! What year was this?
