You keep the gas can next to the computer?

She's got one of them brand new gas-powered Dells. I believe it's powered by the Intel V8 chip.

I hope she's careful to only use 89 octane or higher in that puppy or her data transfer rate will start to drop.

Heh...I wuz trying to work that out! ;-)

Poor dog...must have required a pretty scary surgery!

We had a Golden that would carry rocks around (didn't help his teeth any), but luckily none that would eat 'em. But it figgers that it was a lab, I gotta say...they'll eat just about anything!

"You guys ain't seen a thread-killin' until I've done a thread-killin'."

Yeah, but you kilt the thread when most of the Hole was still sleepin'. I've seen Darksheare kill threads in broad daylight in front of witnesses :)

"Something that for once isn't my fault, and as an added bonus is a conspiracy on the side."

Now waitaminute, I'm not convinced it wasn't your fault, I'm just trying to figure out how you made it look like it wasn't your fault :)

"I may be going to a HUGH natural foods place one of these days, though."

Hugh's Natural Foods--sounds like a family grocery store :)

That's the ash that's left over after you smoke turtles, right?

This is true.
Dimensional Doors thread sits as 'the most killed and resurrected thread' by me at themoment.
Killed in broad daylight, with malice and with witnesses numbering more than 100.

And then resurrected with a few pings and a weird joke or seven.

(As to how I do it and make it look like I didn't.. I'm not even sure how I do it.)
Ksen has killed threads that refused to die previously.
Hmm..
Does this mean that we're grouped together in one thread and thus a Nexus of Thread killing energy?

Speaking of Hugh...

A group of friars was behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, a rival florist across town thought the competition was unfair. He asked the good fathers to close down, but they would not. He went back and begged the friars to close. They ignored him. So the rival florist hired Hugh MacTaggart, the roughest and most vicious thug in town, to "persuade" them to close. Hugh beat up the friars and trashed their store, saying he'd be back if they didn't close up shop. Terrified, they did so, thereby proving that Hugh, and ONLY Hugh, can prevent florist friars.

"Is this something we'd like and I am the only one that has never heard of it?"

I just posted on that thread; never heard of it, either. I guess I still haven't completed my mission to boldly go where no SF geek has gone before. . .

The first step is admitting you have a problem. . . :)

"FWIW, "Herculiner and the Hootus" would be a great name for a band..."

Or a dubbed Italian movie about Greek mythology starring Steve Reeves :)

And then there was the classic comedy "The Three Stooges Meet Herculiner and the Hootuses". . .

"Ksen has killed threads that refused to die previously."

Sounds like a horror movie: "The Thread That Would Not Die" :) Maybe all the thread-killing energy on FR is concentrated on the Hole, which is thus a black hole that draws all thread-killing energy to itself? Threads check in, but they don't check out. . .

They did surgery and opened him up, took out all the rocks. I think they repeated the surgery 3-4 times. He wouldn't stop. They stopped letting him loose on the beach, but it became an obsession. two minutes alone and he'd be eating rocks.

What'd they have to do long term? Muzzle him when they couldn't keep an eye on him?

Man...at least my dogs' bad habits and tendencies don't require surgery!

Hmm.. Interesting theory.
The Dimensional Doors were like that in their infancy, and that has tapered off a bit.
(That and the DD thread itself has been killed and resurrected often..)

Maybe there's multiple Nexii of Thread killing energy, like a multiverse, but we don't usually notice them unless we go from one thread to another and observe the forces in action.

They just tried to keep him in the house or kenneled. I think he was quite old when he stopped himself up that last time and his system couldn't take it again.
