In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Haven’t checked my mood ring yet. Y’all behave yourselves, ya hear? Principal JimRob is still out of town. I expect the utmost respect on this thread today. The Mods have been overworked lately.

vagary noun:
Pronunciation: Pronounced about three different ways. Take your pick.
Etymology: Probably fr. Latin
1) Archaic: Journey, excursion, tour (Sea Dragon’s adventures?)
2) Archaic: An aimless digression
3) Obsequious: (a) A departure from the regular, lawful or proper course of conduct. (b)Caper, frolic
4) A departure from the normal, expected or logical order of course. (a) A capricious, eccentric or unpredictable action. (b) A change that is hard to predict or explain.

Ted "Splash!" Kennedy is a perfect example of the vagaries of liberals. He is in a porculent fury over a few prisoners who've had women's panties put on their heads in a prison that used to behead, behand, and electrify enemies of Saddam, yet he's perfectly content to see American contractors kidnapped, abused, and beheaded on video, with barely a whisper of protest.
