Challenged the White Knight
gloved and mailed
dueling words to unveil
in twilight's magic hour
and maidens fair by the hour
struck by clocks on high tower

Winds blow cold, damp and mould,
covers castles stone and mortar old

And maidens dreams of love's sweet caress
twisting tresses laid upon her dresses
oh for love of one Black Knight
her dreams held taut in low candle light

Take me as I am
my whole and loving man
bound we two by the stars
whose velvet nights
show us Mars and wrap us
round each others heart
as woodbines grow in the dale
for we are one
not meant to part
soul lovers on our trek
riding comets to the brink
and drinking in celestial sights
on our heavenly bound flight

In the tall and lofty pine
the knight did ride
a mighty steed
to fair maiden's side
in towers tall
hidden by an ivied wall

Her brave knight
dressed in white
did travel o'er
darkest nite
to soothe his maiden's
long distress and
wipe the tears from
her dress
to hold her close
and warm behold
his lovely lass
now turned old

The wait was long
her heart held strong
she long loved her
strong, handsome knight
and begged for comfort from
the draft and dripping mould
for a moment's midnight reprieve
from lonely haunting ....

Oh for it to leave
to warm-to love-to sing
for two .... a lovely lass
a white knight romance
in a Poet's Loving Dance...

I would take my lady,
in the morning of youth,
hearts alive with joy and wonder,
voices fueled with love and truth.

I would take my lady,
in the fullness of her age,
blooming with promise and memories,
hair still scented of lavendar and sage.

I would take my lady,
with wisdom on her brow,
silver hair and starlit eyes,
not dimmed, ever, surely not now.

My Lady waits with patience,
for my errantry to cease,
for when I rest within her arms,
The Knight shall find peace.
