I checked it without the special formatting as well. It scans okay, but it's a lot shorter!
It seems like a reasonable message, and it's hard for anyone to fail to "get the point!"
Bob here's a thought, how about a frame either black background, and white text, or the black text against a white background. No other graphics. The text defines the shape. I think it would be smashing.
