But dearest sis, you "don't count" as an adventure, but an accepted hazard of the job.
EXCEPT when you're having rock brained lunks run in circles looking for me while I stand and watch them look for me, or when you're having me *ahem* 'dispose' of annoyances..

Good afternoon to everyone at the Lair. It's warm and a tad humid here in Oregon, just finished grocery shopping and now it's time for a break. ;-)

The Original Star Trek series was good. Didn't care for any of the Spin offs. My wife loved the Voyager series. Like minds. I only liked the original.

Ode To Spot is a poem that Leiutenant Commander Data wrote and recited in the episode "Schisms."

Ode to Spot

Felis Cattus, is your taxonomic nomenclature,
an endothermic quadruped carnivorous by nature?
Your visual, olfactory and auditory senses
contribute to your hunting skills, and natural defenses.

I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
a singular development of cat communications
that obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
for a rhythmic stroking of your fur, to demonstrate affection.

A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents;
you would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.
And when not being utilized to aide in locomotion,
it often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.

O Spot, the complex levels of behaviour you display
connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array.
And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.

LoL Now that is a good cat poem.

I tried to get into the Data and that bunch, but they never held the magic of the cast of Star Trek.

To: Kathy in Alaska
Good afternoon Kathy, thank you for the lovely Pansies.

To: bentfeather
I tried to get into the Data and that bunch, but they never held the magic of the cast of Star Trek. Yep, the only good part about the later series was the technology for doing makeup and special effects.

Don't you just hate grocery shopping, I do.LOL. It's different out here with Sam. Shopping goes by lickity-split, especially if you have a list. Sam just grabs the items and before you know it you're in line ready to check out! No chance for shelf shopping, just git and go!
I tease him about it but I really do spend less that way and he's so much fun I can't complain.

    We're The Riders

It's a thankless life we lead
 cause nobody knows our names.
We are silhouettes on the hills
 and shadows on the plains.

What we carry runs the nation
and we execute our duty well.
 We're the Pony Express riders,
the boys that carry the mail.

We've been shot at and ambushed,
 chased down and almost kilt,
 soaked through and frozed,
survived heat that made us wilt.

The food is a little scarce
and the pay is hardly scale.
 We're the Pony Express riders,
the boys that carry the mail.

 We're all excellent horsemen
and the mustang is our ride . . .
the wilder and faster the better
to get the job done in stride.

An oath we all took in earnest
and made a promise not to fail.
 We're the Pony Express riders,
the boys that carry the mail.

You could say that we are brave
and we have all been scared,
but mostly we're just too young
to know what should be feared.

 Racing time and the telegraph
out here on the lonely trail . . .
 we're the Pony Express riders,
the boys that carry the mail.

Good poem, guess I never thought about Pony Express Riders like this. They did have a rough life.

Tried to play the tunes, all code. :-( Thank You for Breakfast.
