Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Maybe I should move back to NC so I can tease the siblings who won't take it so seriesly
To: Overtaxed
Yeah, I guess it could be - most of these jokes can be applied to any group. I got some pretty bad viola jokes too, if you want them.

You know, I do have my fleece elvin-cloak I would loan out to whoever needs it!
While my dad and everyone were practicing walking down and timing it to the music... he said "I hope my Gandalf Costume is done in time".... I laughed, and he said "Oh maybe you weren't supposed to know about that"

I for one still plan to be very casual... I will be wearing a tie-dye shirt and running shorts. Maybe even my birkenstocks.
(The tie-dyes are left over from my days as a chemistry teacher. They make nice nightshirts. Good for gardening, too. I don't wear them out and about. The Birks are just plain comfy. And curses on the tree huggers for making a joke out of quality shoes.)

I figgured I could roll around in the dirt by the water before anyone saw me. Dingy grayish-brown won't EVER show up the bride. :-)

The color is better, but a bit too bulky for the Hawaii theme.
Hmmm...

Precisely why I always make it clear that I'm a HARFOOT Hobbit. That way, my Dwarf-like behavior doesn't seem remiss. *smile*
