Actually that song was written for my two neighbors who were having a very public spat on their back porch (I live in an apartment complex). The argument bounced around the themes of betrayal and being "stabbed in the back." The argument occured near sundown, hence the line about the sun going down on what was you and me.
Sometime I'll finish recording the stuff I wrote when I first became Tragically Single. I'll have to, uh, sanitize the lyrics a bit, though, lol...
That line said to me that it was the end of the relationship, as when the sun goes down it is the end of the day.

Yes, we do have a nanny net here...

I meant to tell you earlier when you posted that. When I hear stuff like that going on I ask the holy spirit to intervene. I have no idea who is right or wrong, but usually it looks like both are wrong if I can hear it. So I just let God sort it out on what needs to happen.
We have a neighbor across the street who was disabled in a car wreck at age 16 and lives on social security (he is in his 20's or 30's now). He ocassionally has his girlfriend live with him and has been in arguements with her. Sometimes it is a room-mate and the room-mates girlfriend.
Even if I have a barking dog keeping me awake at night I'll pray and ask the Lord to meet the dog's needs, and to wake and alert the owner to the dog's distress.
I think I can say that this prayer has always "calmed the waters" so to speak.
