The Garden
Soft Poetry By Sand

The wind blows through the willow tree, Its limbs bent to the ground
The river flows beside the tree, the lapping water pounds
Beneath a sky of brilliant blue, serene within a garden
A woman softly hums a tune, the world outside forgotten

Her auburn hair falls to her waist, a basket on her arm
She gently picks the roses there, careful of the thorns
Planted with the greatest care,tended with much love
The garden that she walks in, was once nothing but dust

Life is like a garden, planted with great care
Nourished with a gentle love, it produces flowers everywhere
The fragrance drifts upon the breeze and lingers overhead
Sharing its beauty with the world in which we live

In 2003 HeartofGold,who recently was killed, wrote a poem which I am posting in her memory.
On a thread titled Peter Arnett: I report the truth: "reporter" hired by anti-war tabloid after NBC firing , HeartofGold wrote:

Peter Arnett and Hanoi Jane
would say anything for their own gain
they are so deluded in their belief
they don't care who it causes grief
in their own sick minds they have their reason
but if the cost is lives then it's clearly treason
freedom of speech is a right we hold dear
with rights come responsibility, that much is clear
pride in our country is not out of style
it will survive through many a trial
and in the end, when the war is won
we won't forget what they have done
