How do you know all this stuff?
(Spiderman, is that you?)
Most people would be too proud to take the obvious bait.
A cheer for impetuousity! Anyway, over at the Astronomical Picture of the Day, there's an article concerning the latest theory about the origin of our Solar System. Interesting reading, which I won't reprise here except to say that the beginning may have been a bit more cataclysmic than previouslyA-Lurker -- oops -- previously thought.
I read that, and now it is stored in my memory, subject to recall a year, or five years, from now, if someone should ask a triggering question.
In this way, I accrete information, layering it on previous data and observations. I suppose the trick is the data recall reliability, with which I cannot help you, except to note that practice there, also increases capability. That and good nutrition.
I also try to resist the urge to pontificate on subjects where I have limited information, and speak up only when I feel I have something to add. My listeners may not always agree, but that is my intent.
