What happened to the Mayfield Story? (Please forgive this breach of posting etiquette)
Shameless Non-Article posting | 5-11-2004 | Codeflier

What happened to the huge story that broke last week regarding the Attorney named Mayfield that had fingerprints found in Madrid related to the bombing there in March?

It just seems to have totally died. Anyone know what is up with this?

"How did they trace his fingerprint? What was his fingerprint on file for?"

Most anyone that has ever been in the military has been fingerprinted, as have lawyers and people who have clearances. He was a lawyer. Last I heard, the fingerprints did not match well at all and it may have been a tad premature.

IIRC, lawyers have to have a background check to be licensed. His prints would be on file from that.

Seems that Mayfield hasn't been out of the country in ten years...

Aparently his fingerprints have been though. He could easily have put the print on the bag in the US, and then the bag was sent overseas, but the question is, was the "material" in the bag then, or was it put in there afterwards.

Here is a ongoing thread with quite a bit of input from Oregonians who are familiar with the area and mosque he attended, etc.

I'm curious. What's the deal on Abu Hamza? Are we actually going to try to extradite this fool or not? Isn't he wanted in Yemen also?

I don't know if we are going to try to extradite him. I would image we are going to let Britain go through their process first (complete speculation on my part). His trial in London has been postponed until January 2005. Here's some info from a few weeks ago:

Thanks for the link.

I can't believe how feeble the anti-terrorism laws are in Western countries. That's one reason, among many, that I don't support the concept of fighting the war on terrorism as if it's merely a police-action.

Just looking at the results of attempts to bring these monsters to justice-the most horrifying injustice being the recent release of a member of the Hamburg Cell that Mohammed Atta belonged to-is infuriating.

We need to start getting serious about fighting terror, otherwise the Hamzas of the world will start replicating the atrocities they've committed in the Mid-East over here.
