Psalm 40
1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

Becky Update (it is now in GOD's hands): Rebecca needs our prayers. Keep them going up. Got this from Nick Bailey today:

Yesterday I went to Memphis to see Rebecca in the hospital. As most of you know, Rebecca was involved in a very bad car accident over 2 weeks ago. She had 10 broken ribs, a punctured lung, lacerated spleen and other injuries. She has been on a respirator now for 2 weeks. She is extremely swollen due to fluids on her body. Her heart and kidneys are functioning well. Her greatest challenge is her inability to breathe on her own. Instead of gradually lowering the use of the respirator, they've had to increase it. She has developed Acute Repertory Distress Syndrome(ARDS) due to the trauma and fluid. That causes the lungs not to function properly. The doctors have told Rebecca's husband Jerry that they are doing everything they can for her and now it is up to Rebecca. I ran into a friend of mine who is a doctor at the hospital and he told me Rebecca is in a good place for her problems and that the medical care there is outstanding for trauma patients. They had operated on Rebecca's foot the day before I was there. She was heavily sedated. I tried to incite her by invoking the names of John Nixon and Penny White. When she didn't react I knew she couldn't hear me. Her mother and husband are there every day. Her daughter and son-in-law had driven in from St. Louis when I was there. There really isn't anything we can do but pray for her recovery. She remains in a very precarious state. Verna

Continued prayers for Rebecca.

Please offer prayers for my mom's friend and former neighbor Doris. We received sad news this evening that her husband was killed in a horrible car wreck. She has serious health problems and mom is very concerned about her given the current circumstances.

Father Lord we pray for comfort for this eledely lady who has just lost her husband in a car accident. May she know Your comforting arms Lord Jesus. Amen.

BTW keep close watch on her over the next year as that is the most critical time after a spouses death. Many just give up the will to live after losing their spouses.

Becky update, tad of good news today.

Here is this mornings update from Jerry Easley about Rebecca: Becky may have shown some slight improvement yesterday, they were able to reduce some of the settings on the ventilator and she seemed to be tolerating that ok. She was also more alert because they had reduced the amount of sedative she was getting. She would open her eyes when we talked to her but how much she was aware of, I'm not sure. Hopefully she will be able to maintain the lower ventilator settings so they can continue to gradually reduce them. They also gave her a diuretic to help reduce some of her swelling and it appears the swelling may have gone down slightly as well.
