Yeah, I've done that a few times myself.
It's REALLY bad when you have posted something on the WRONG THREAD and ask the mods to delete it and they leave it because it's amusing to read the thread and suddenly there's this odd post in the middle of nowhere.
I've limited myself on posting treads.
Think I've posted only someting around 4 or 5 threads myself.
It takes time to get the hang of, I myself limit myself to mere replies in thread.
