I can't stand "Brand New Rollerskates" (Melanie, I think), or "You Light Up My Life" by Debbie Boone.
I'd rather listen to a Kerry speech.

I can't stand "Brand New Rollerskates" (Melanie, I think) Artist: right Title: wrong. It was actually "Brand New Key."
I am a font of useless musical info. :)
Trivia Question for all: What band holds the record for the most songs to hit #2 on the Billboard chart without ever having a #1 song?

I can't stand "Brand New Rollerskates" (Melanie, I think) Oh my, that was a terrible song, probably worse than any song on this list. There was also that goofy song 'Poloroid'....gives me nice bright colors......and another classic, Cats and the Craddle.

I had no idea what Melanie was singing about other than Rollerskates when I was thirteen........Or Joannie Mitchell's "Blender Blues" either! I was soooo naieve!
I was about thirty before it dawned on me. When I consider what the songs were really about, I'm glad I spent my time chasing thirteen year old girls and playing with my friends than listening to music.
