I suspect Karl Rove deserves a lot of the credit for picking up on humor as a lethal campaign weapon.
As I reported a few days ago, Bob Woodward described a session with Rove where Karl pulled out his campaign strategy book on Kerry. On the cover, it was labeled: "Bring It On".
The left just can't be funny, they're too full of hate. When folks like us use humor against Kerry, et al., it strikes me as good-natured. The left can't say anything without spitting and snarling, a la Janeane Garofalo and Michael Moore. I think you have to enjoy life to have a real sense of humor, and the lefties just don't.
Sometimes their humor is unintentional, though:
COURTNEY Love knows whom to blame for her troubles. The rocker - who has gone broke, been arrested for drugs, and is fighting for custody of her daughter, Frances Bean - somehow blames President Bush. "The last thing I want to say is that I'm a victim, but I am," Love told Rolling Stone. "I believe it's a trickle down from Bush," she said, particularly of her financial situation. "I should have done an audit. But did I bring it on myself? I don't think so." (PageSix)
