the spoiled, lazy rich whose energy only shows up when they are "playing".

Exactly. We're supposed to be impressed with Kerry's Kennedyesque virility because he straps on a snowboard and dons a $500 ski jacket to go play in the snow. I really have to wonder, when has that man ever done something of substance for anyone (let alone risked a blister doing yard work)? Can you even imagine Effin' and Teresa working at a soup kitchen? Her scarf would keep falling into the gravy pot, and he'd be afraid of chipping a nail.

Bush/Cheney campaign spokesman, Steve Schmidt, today:

"Only John Kerry could take both sides on whether or not he owns an SUV".

I'd like your opinion on something.

I've been thinking about how Kerry is so quickly becoming an object of derision. Our side RULES when it comes to humor: Free Republic, Rush, Fox, Best of the Web, NRO...even that Brain Terminal guy who goes and interviews lefties at their protests. They're all funny, not to even mention the brilliantly funny side of the Bush campaign.

What does the left have to counter this? Nothing. Air America...don't make me laugh (literally!). And the "best" liberal writers work at The New Republic, which requires a paid subscription. They have an article over there right now that I'd like to read: "John Kerry's Daring Spring Strategy: Don't punch back!". But there's no way I'd PAY to read it. No wonder they can't get their message out.

At least Slate is still free, but even their humor has been more aimed AT Kerry. There's just no reliably funny left-leaning site to compare to the ones I listed above. Unless you know of any? Interesting that the loony lefties seem to have never cultivated a sense of humor. And the dour "extreme right" is knee-slapping funny. Yes, interesting.
