I agree that this is a dumb "PR" move on Purdy's part. A guy who's never won on the PGA tour should consider discretion the better part of valor, in my opinion, and just "man up." So he didn't like the ruling. Ernie got a much more questionable favorable ruling the week before, as I recall. This is the way golf is, and I hate to see its gentlemanly character being eroded.

I also doubt that Stewart's friends on the tour - of whom I'm sure there are many - appreciate any innuendo of impropriety on Mr. Purdy's part.

"[It is] insulting that Usama bin Laden is still around to taunt us," Clinton expressed.

Take it up with your worthless husband, who declined Sudan's "silver platter" offer of Osama. Witch.

My thoughts exactly.

Ouch, maybe it was really really good lighting, compare her apperance on Larry King, 4/20. The first pic is from American Society of Newspaper Editors annual meeting on the same day.

.

Kerry contributed the following amounts...

Wow, I'm better at reading faces than I thought! :-)

Bill must be really unhappy with himself for that particular episodic harangue of how he tried so hard, he never worked harder for the American people... And that there's a recording of it,,, priceless.

In honoring the nation's top teachers on Wednesday, President Bush (news - web sites) was reminded of how he once disrupted his fourth-grade music class by drawing sideburns on his face and mimicking Elvis.

"I told you not to tell the Elvis story," Bush said to his wife, Laura Bush, a former teacher and librarian, who disclosed how the president had gotten in trouble by performing for the other students.

But then he added: "The best decision I made was to marry a teacher."

After the ribbing in the sun-washed Rose Garden, Bush honored teachers from across America, including Kathleen Mellor, 55, an English teacher from Rhode Island who was named National Teacher of the Year for 2004.

Mellor is a teacher at Davisville Middle School in North Kingstown, R.I., Mellor reshaped the English-as-a-second-language program in her district, allowing students to be integrated with others while they also got special help. She also formed a parents group for speakers of other languages, improving their ability to help their children.

She is known for setting high but realistic standards and for earning such respect that students want her at their first communions and backyard dances.

Bush praised the teachers for fighting the "soft bigotry of low expectations."

"Mr. President, we share the same goals" and are "firm in the belief that it can be done," Mellor responded.

The National Teacher of the Year program, a project of the Council of Chief State School Officers, is sponsored by Scholastic, Inc., the publisher of children's books. ___

As we can see in #107 it's much better to age gracefully.

Mrs. Baucus was upset because another customer was getting help with mulch ahead of her.

Well, you can't have that.

Ta-Raze-ah- looks an awful lot like Katherine Harris (of Florida recount fame) in that photo. Wouldn't I love to be the one to tell her that!

Woo hoo, John Effin is coming to my neck o' the woods Monday (story). Gee, I hope Teresa comes, too - she has so much in common with the average West Virginian (especially the Gulfstream jet).

Well, I've watched all the golf commentary and I think this is simply going to remain a "gray area".

Commentators appear to be of a mind that:
1) No one is questioning Stewart's integrity...that's beyond reproach.
2) This is a gray area where rules aren't clear.
3) Stewart pushed the envelope, some will say he went too far.

That's about as clear as it's going to get. Bottom line: there will be somewhat of a mental asterisk next to his victory, but his personal reputation is undiminished. Best way to address it: just go out there and play as well as he's been playing all year.

His next tournament is 3 weekends from now. See ya there.

The just-arrived Sports Illustrated clearly explains that Stewart did nothing wrong. I hope this is the end of it.

SD=San Diego...Stewart had a great second round, getting 9 birdies on the first 9. As a reward for his great play, he got paired up with John Daly the third day...it was chaos and bedlam, the crowd and photogs were behaving badly, worse than even when Tiger is making a charge...and one of the photogs kicked Stewart's ball. It was all downhill for Stewart after that and Daly went on to win for the first time in ions. But Stewart got good press here for being a good sport, not only about his kicked ball, but because it was such bedlam to have to play with Daly. He even had a quote something like "I'm used to chaos, I grew up in Alabama (or maybe he said Miss).

So it is onward and upward for Stewart. He is 22nd on the money list and he gets to keep his plaid jacket...Yipee...Can't wait till the next time. Since he is only 30 years old, I am sure he has great Sunday's ahead of him.

Happy Earth Day to all...

Poor Rush, struggling to figure out why Kerry is taking three days to celebrate Earth Day when all the polls say it is at the bottom of the list of concerns for registered voters. I should have called him to tell him that TERESA IS A BIG ENVIRONMENTALIST...can't upset the lady with the checkbook, can we? LOL...Teresa says she is absolutely not going to release her tax returns. The NY Times said she must in order for Kerry to get the trust of the voters. Wonder who will prevail?

WHO LOOKS MORE EARTHY ON EARTH DAY?
